Getting started
No. Most people show up alone. We rotate partners during class so everyone dances with everyone — it's how you learn faster and how the room becomes a community.
For most classes, no — they're built for people who have never danced before. We do run more advanced classes too, but those are clearly marked as such on the schedule. If you have a background in another style you'll pick things up faster, but it isn't required.
Comfortable clothes you can move in — t-shirt and pants, or whatever feels good. Avoid sticky soles (running shoes, rubber). Smooth-soled shoes or dance shoes work best; socks over sneakers is a common hack.
No. Partner dancing is more about coordination and listening than fitness. People of every age and body type dance with us. You'll get more fit over time without trying.
A water bottle and a small towel if you sweat — that's really it. Most venues have a corner to drop bags and change.
10–15 minutes before class. It gives you time to change, meet the teacher, and shake out the day before we start.
Classes & format
Most courses and tracks run 2 hours, typically split between a technical block and a guided social-style practice at the end. Other activities — workshops, drop-ins, socials — can be shorter or longer; the exact length of every session is shown in the schedule.
A drop-in is a one-off class — great for trying us out or topping up. A course runs over several weeks as a structured progression with a smaller group that learns together; the exact number of sessions is listed on the schedule. Courses are the fastest way to get comfortable on the floor.
No stress — life happens, and our instructors roll with it. Every class kicks off with a quick recap, so you can skip a week and jump right back in.
Both. Most classes are in Hebrew with English explanations when needed. If you don't speak Hebrew, you'll be fine — dance is mostly shown, not said.
Yes. Many students do. Your body learns faster when it sees more than one approach to connection and movement.
Yes — one-on-one or as a couple. Private lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that's catching up, prepping for a competition, or working through a specific block. Get in touch to schedule.
Community & socials
An open dance evening with no instruction — you show up, ask people to dance, and dance for as many songs as you like. It's where everything you learned in class becomes real.
Yes — that's how most people come. Socials are designed so you'll find partners. If you feel awkward, tell us at the door and we'll make sure you get a few dances early on.
Please do — bringing someone new is always welcome. It's how the floor grows.
Absolutely. Role-switching is welcome and encouraged. Many of our best dancers do both. Just let your partner know which role you're practicing.
